Hello everybody!
In 2010 we gonna do a special dance and drumming workshop during one week in Germany. The drumming classes (2 levels) include only traditional upper-guinean maninka-music (style of Mansy Camio's, Nansady Kourouma's, Nansady Keita's, Nundiarra Kourouma's and of others'), the dance class trains on both, traditional village dances and modern capital style. The whole week has one common subject: SOLI/SÖKÖ - and, of course, the interaction between dance, djembé and sangban (dunduns).

class 1: dance from Guinea (Mandy Pfennig/Berlin)*
class 2: djembé (Juerg Wohlwender/Pfaffenhofen a.I.)*
class 3: dundun (Daniel Preissler/Freiburg i.Br.)*
The classes are not at the same time, so you can book all three classes. The drumming classes have got two niveaus:
djembé semiprofi: Juerg Wohlwender – djembé advanced: Daniel Preissler
dundun semiprofi: Daniel Preissler – dundun advanced: Juerg Wohlwender
Please notice that the semiprofi classes are on a really high level! You should be able to play several dundunba rhythms. The advanced class participants should be able to play some ternary rhythms. To guarantee a high quality class, the drumming courses are limited to 8 participants!! Contact the teachers for further information. The prices include food and accommodation.

* 2 ˝ hours of class from Monday to Saturday. Thursday no class (time for rest and reset, having a nice time in this fine area or some special practice time with the other participants). Arrival: Sunday, 8th, in the evening. Departure Sunday, 15th, in the morning.
